Kota Ibushi has commented on his recent injury issues and AEW return.

The Golden Star hasn’t wrestled since defeating Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH The New Year 2024. He suffered an ankle injury during the match, which required surgery and significant time off for the Japanese star. His last AEW match was an eight-man street fight on Dynamite in November

Kota Ibushi has kept quiet about his condition, but he recently posted an update on Twitter. He revealed that as soon as his doctors clears him to compete, he will return immediately and report back to AEW.

The Japanese stat admitted he is “85% alive”, which could indicate he is close to returning to the ring.

“Of course, if my current doctor in Japan tells me that I can compete, I will report to AEW and return immediately. I’m now 85% alive. Please wait a little more.”

Ibushi previously asked his Twitter followers if they had any ideas on how to fix his ankle, so it doesn’t look like he’ll be back any time soon.

He previously spent over a year out of the ring after suffering an injury in the G1 Climax 31 final match against Kazuchika Okada.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
