Tommy Hilfiger is joining forces with New York-based designer Clarence Ruth for a limited-edition capsule collection in collaboration with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One team.

Through the 10-piece motorsport-inspired collection, Ruth shared his interpretation of the classic Tommy Hilfiger style infused with the world of F1. Mercedes-AMG drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, who star in the collection’s campaign, will officially launch the line over the weekend (July 21-23) at the Barcelona Grand Prix, but it’s available to shop online starting Thursday, June 20.

The brand released campaign photos of the collection, which includes a color-blocked red, white and blue varsity jacket, embroidered chino pants, soccer jerseys with the drivers’ numbers on them, a T-shirt with a care label inspired by an F1 car dashboard and more. All pieces of the collaboration have Tommy Hilfiger, Mercedes-AMG F1 team and Ruth’s label Cotte D’Armes logos.

“In recent years, it’s been incredibly exciting to witness the worlds of Formula 1 and fashion becoming increasingly intertwined,” the designer said in a release. “By bringing these realms together, we aim to redefine the relationship between speed and style.”

Ruth began working with Tommy Hilfiger after winning the brand’s New Legacy Challenge in 2022, which was created through a partnership between Tommy Hilfiger’s People’s Place Program and Harlem’s Fashion Row. The challenge was “created to support emerging Black, Indigenous and People of Color designers on a global scale,” according to a release.

“Designing this collection challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and think more creatively,” Ruth said in a release. The designer noted that he typically tailored pieces, so the sportswear inclusion forced him to think outside the box.

In addition to the campaign and collection, Tommy Hilfiger is releasing a three-part docuseries with Hamilton, Russell and Ruth. The first part of the series, titled “What It Takes,” has been uploaded to the brand’s YouTube channel.

The collection is now available at Tommy.com, shop.mercedesamgf1.com and in select Tommy Hilfiger stores.
