It's a new round of intense cooking on one of America's favorite televised cooking competitions and this season includes a Kentucky chef. Devon Rosenblatt, executive chef at Kentucky Exposition Center, is living out a dream. On Thursday, the 29-year-old chef was revealed as a contestant on Season 22 of "Hell's Kitchen."

The long-running reality competition cooking show began airing 18 years ago and is hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. For this new season, the focus is on The American Dream and stories that are uniquely American. Celebrity guests on the show include country music artist Martina McBride, boxing great Oscar De La Hoya, and entrepreneur Dia Simms.

Throughout Season 22, celebrity guests will encourage the competing chefs with their own stories of how they have fulfilled their own American Dream.

"Dia Simms is the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company," said Rosenblatt. "It's unreal to know that I am in the presence of true greatness."

Rosenblatt grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, and now works as Executive Chef at The Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. He also works at private events in the Louisville area.

Rosenblatt grew up in a family who worked in the food service and has admired Ramsay since he was a young boy.

"Hey, can you all believe we are in 'Hell's Kitchen?'" Rosenblatt said to his teammates at the start of Season 22.

He prefers a fusion style of cooking, which means he brings different ingredients from different cultures together in his food, particularly flavors from the South.

During the first episode of Season 22, Rosenblatt prepared a smoked pork tenderloin which Chef Ramsay gave a three out of five rating. That means there is room for improvement but at least Rosenblatt didn't receive a "one out of five," which is what Ramsay awarded some of the other constants.

What does the 'Hell's Kitchen' winner get?

The winning contestant will be awarded a $250,000 grand prize and an opportunity to work as an Executive Chef at one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants. The winner of Season 22 will become the head chef at Hell's Kitchen Las Vegas.

When does 'Hell's Kitchen' air?

You can catch Rosenblatt on "Hell's Kitchen" on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on FOX, with episodes available to stream the day after they air live on Hulu.
