Red carpet season is almost here — which means we’re in for a ton of gorgeous dresses, flawless hair and extravagant makeup moments. But this year, there’s a twist: Many of Hollywood’s celebrities will be dressing in all black on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, in order to stand in solidarity against the sexual harassment that’s been taking place in the community. And the lack of color in their wardrobe means that stars will likely get creative with their beauty looks instead. So to get ready for what’s to come, we’re looking back at some of the riskiest looks from the 2017 season on this week’s PeopleNow episode.
PEOPLE’s style and beauty director, Andrea Lavinthal, along with beauty editor Jackie Fields, took a walk down memory lane this week, in order to call out the riskiest looks they saw last season. First up? Mandy Moore’s hot pink lip, which, worn with a black-and-white dress, will most likely be a trend yet again this year.
Kate Hudson wore a bold lip as well, which Lavinthal says is out of character for the star, who typically sticks with a nude gloss. Another out-of-the-box look? Lady Gaga’s bright red eye shadow, along with Jane Fonda’s extra-long, pin-straight ponytail, which she paired with a bright pink dress to pull off a real-life Barbie vibe.
