Finally, some justice in this wretched year of 2020. On Saturday, the man responsible for assualting certifiably sexy, shy nerd and Canadian treasure Rick Moranis was taken into custody by NYPD police. According to Entertainment Weekly, Marquis Ventura, 35, was arrested at 3:30 pm near the corner of 96th street and Broadway. He has been charged with second-degree assault. If convicted, Ventura could face a sentencing of up to seven years. An NYPD spokesperson confirmed the arrest on Twitter, writing that an "eagle-eyed sergeant" from NYPD Transit was responsible for apprehending Ventura.

NYPT Transit Chief Kathleen O’Reilly later epxanded on the event."The high-profile nature of this incident had little bearing on Sergeant Dennis & PO Merlino’s determination to catch the assailant"

High profile indeed. Back in October, when word of the attack on Moranis got out, a nation wept. How could something so random and horrific happen to Canada's sweetheart?Moranis left the movie industry nearly 25 years ago to raise his kids as a single Dad after the passing of his wife in 1991. But As Esquire reported last month, the geeky SCTV alum was scheduled to return to the public eye this year in the form of a Honey, I Shrunk the Kids reboot. Like all good things though, the release of the film has been delayed due to the *Cardi B voice* Coronaviiiirus. So instead of making a highly anticapted return to the silver screen, Rick Moranis got smacked in the back of the head—not cool.

Thankfully, Moranis survived the attack and is reported to be in good health. Now, with justice served, we can all go back to worrying primarily about when the Shrunk reboot will finally be released.
