Megan Fox and the Original April O'Neil Collide in 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' Deleted Scene (Exclusive!)

The heroes in a half shell were joined by a host of familiar human faces for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, this summer’s sequel to 2014’s franchise reboot. And in a new deleted scene, yet another blast-from-the-past friend shows up to lend some career advice — as well as give a promotion — to Megan Fox’s ace reporter. Watch it above.

In a never-before-seen excised scene, Megan Fox’s April O’Neil is compelled to take a Times Square meeting with her Channel 6 network boss — who, it turns out, is played by none other than Judith Hoag, the actress who first co-starred as April in 1990’s original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Hoag’s bigwig offers Fox’s journalist a shot at a cushy news-anchor job, and though the offer isn’t exactly well-received, Hoag punctuates her sales pitch by letting April know, “You and I, we’re basically the same person.”

Longtime fans of the series will undoubtedly be thrilled to see two generations of April O’Neils meet in this deleted scene, which is one of many special features accompanying the home-video version of the film when it hits online retailers and store shelves. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows debuts on Digital HD today and on Blu-ray and DVD on Sept. 20.
