Before reuniting with her Devil Wears Prada co-stars Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt at the 2024 SAG Awards, Meryl Streep had a slight mishap with the microphone.

After being introduced by Idris Elba to present the first award of the night — best male actor in a comedy series, which went to Jeremy Allen White — Streep walked right into the microphone on the stage.

She quickly grabbed the microphone stand, looking quite frazzled. “Two things, I forgot my glasses … clearly. And the envelope,” she said with a laugh.

But Hathaway and Blunt swooped in to save their once-demanding boss, Miranda Priestly, from the Oscar-winning 2006 film. The two actresses took to the stage with the awards envelope and Streep’s glasses in hand.

“Oh my God. It’s an age-old question: Where does the character end and the actor begin?” Streep asked, as Blunt responded, “Well as we’ve just seen, Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins.”

“I don’t think I’m anything like Miranda,” Streep claimed before Hathaway quickly cut her off, channeling Miranda Priestly: “No, that wasn’t a question.” Streep jokingly looked her fellow actress up and down, stunned by their comparison to her past character.

But Blunt got the Only Murders in the Building actress back on track to present the award. “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me,” the Oppenheimer star quipped, also channeling Streep’s Devil Wears Prada character.

Backstage, after accepting the award for best male actor in a comedy series, White was asked by Tan France what it was like to be presented the award from the iconic trio. “That was really special. I was struck,” the actor said.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Hathaway, Blunt and Streep would be reunited at the awards ceremony on Saturday, marking 18 years since the beloved movie, directed by David Frankel, premiered.

Other casts that reunited during Saturday’s ceremony included Modern Family, The Lord of the Rings, and Breaking Bad.

The 30th annual SAG Awards were held on Feb. 24 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Find the complete winners list here, as well as a look at the stars on the red carpet.
