“Chef Michael Chiarello’s passion for food and life will forever be etched in our kitchens and our hearts,” the company shared. “In remembrance, we ask that you join us in celebrating his remarkable journey and the incredible impact he had on the world of food, wine, and family by inviting you to share a meal with your family and friends to remind all of us that the bonds forged over a meal are among life’s most precious treasures.”

His Emmy-winning cooking show on Food Network, Easy Entertaining With Michael Chiarello, ran for 10 seasons. The series aimed to help home chefs throw casual parties with good food and low stress. His recipes blended his Italian heritage and wine-country lifestyle.

Chiarello also hosted NapaStyle on Fine Living Network, in addition to other shows on PBS and the Cooking Channel. He appeared as a guest chef on the Today show and The View and served as a judge on Bravo’s Top Chef and Top Chef Masters. In 2011, he competed in Food Network’s Next Iron Chef and earned second runner-up.

He owned several restaurants, including Italian joints Bottega and Ottimo, and Coqueta, which serves Spanish-inspired cuisine. He also opened his own vineyard, Chiarello Family Vineyards.
