Greg Rubino, the listing agent, confirmed the sale is pending, but would not disclose the name of the buyers or sale price. The official asking price is $795,000.

"The new owners will have their announcement when they want," Rubino said, adding that a sale can go from pending to closing in a few months.

Rubino did say the buyers intend to continue to make doughnuts and to modernize the shop.

"They have every intention of keeping the brand and bringing it into the 21st century," he said. "I think the community is going to be very happy."

Like many food service businesses, Mighty Fine has been struggling to find people to work enough to keep it open, despite community enthusiasm for their pastries. Owner Kevin Brigaman also had health issues that forced the store to close temporarily last year. The Brigamans — Kevin, and before him his father, Glenn Brigaman — have owned and operated the 14,918-square-foot shop since 1967.
