Minecraft Bedrock‘s modding community has long allowed players to edit the world, but a new leak has shown that the game may receive a dedicated world editor mode. According to the leaker, this is still a work-in-progress feature but is nevertheless exciting for all Bedrock players.

Minecraft Bedrock’s world editor mode leaked on Twitter

The upcoming world editor mode was leaked on Twitter by games industry insider Roger Badgerman. The short video showcased a few of the world edit features and a potential UI for the tool.

In the video, the player starts by placing large stone cubes down. To do this, they use a brush tool to adjust the cube size before “painting” it along the ground. The tool shows an option to create a hollow cube and “face mode,” whose purpose is unclear.

From there, the player switches to the copy/paste tool. A mountain is selected, then copied numerous times along the ground.

Overall, the tool seems to be a seamless way of making large-scale edits to a Minecraft world, equal to popular third-party tools like MCEdit and WorldEdit. However, the leaker explained that this is a work-in-progress demonstration, so changes to the UI or functionality may occur. This feature won’t launch alongside the upcoming 1.20 update, as the final feature was recently revealed.
