Nashville band talks building a following over social media

HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — In the old days … the days before the internet, streaming services, smartphones, and iTunes, bands pretty much played until they dropped in order to make it big.

But now, they make an Instagram account or a TikTok account and find thousands and thousands of consumers to consume their music.

Ace Monroe is a Nashville-based band that brings some guitars with serious bite. Their shows are fun, and many people have discovered them on social media. They have over 43 thousand followers on Instagram.

While it’s still a grind to make it on the music landscape, social media does tilt the music landscape back in a band’s favor.

“It’s put us in front of so many new people, in front of so many new eyes and as a result of that now, we’ve played a few places in the country where we hadn’t played before, but for some reason people show up and they want to see us play and they’re excited about our music and know what we’re up doing,” Jonathan Tatooles, Ace Monroe’s drummer, said

If you want to give them a listen, put “Ace Monroe” in the search on Instagram and then turn your phone up really loud.
