EXCLUSIVE: Jenn Levy, who has overseen series including Queer Eye and Is It Cake? at Netflix, is leaving the streamer.

Deadline understands that Levy, who is VP Nonfiction, is leaving at the end of this week.

She has been with the company since 2017, having joined as Director of Unscripted Originals from NBCUniversal’s Bravo, where she had spent nine years. She was the company’s unscripted chief Brandon Riegg’s first hire after he joined the company at the end of 2016.

The move is somewhat of a surprise given the success of Netflix’s recent reality pipeline.

Queer Eye is heading in to its eighth season; Love Is Blind — arguably Netflix’s biggest unscripted hit — is back in February with Season 6; and the company behind that series, Kinetic Content, also is behind The Ultimatum, which has aired two seasons and has a spinoff. Also, Selling Sunset is filming its eighth season and has spawned spinoffs, and Rhythm + Flow, Netflix’s first music competition series, is back for a second season with DJ Khaled, Ludacris, Latto and Eminem involved.

However, Deadline also understands that the streamer is currently looking for a new head of unscripted, reporting to VP Nonfiction Series Riegg.

These mark the latest changes for Netflix’s unscripted divisions. Deadline revealed in October that Sahara Bushue, who previously ran unscripted at Will Smith’s Westbrook Studios, was joining the company in a full-time director role, having previously consulted for the company.

“Jenn was my first unscripted hire and played a key role in getting our reality shows up and running,” said Riegg. “She championed many of our early successes, including Queer Eye, our most Emmy-winning unscripted series. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Jenn for everything she has contributed over the years.”
