Only Murders in the Building has already revealed its next murder victim — but an even bigger mystery looms ahead of Season 3.
The Season 2 finale introduced Paul Rudd as Charles’ new costar Ben Glenroy. On the opening night of their play, TV’s erstwhile Brazzos confronted the beloved actor about his problematic behavior. “Stay away from her,” he cautioned. “I know what you did.”

But who is “her”? And what, exactly, did Ben do?
Only Murders showrunner John Hoffman previously told TVLine that Rudd will return and continue to give “a touch of a–hole” in Season 3. Lucy Is ‘Her’
Charles’ kinda-sorta ex-stepdaughter is the person he cares for most in this world. Also of note: We have yet to meet Lucy’s biological father or her newest stepfather. And we know very little about Ben.
Mabel Is ‘Her’
After all they’ve been through solving Tim Kono and Bunny Folger’s murders, Charles (Old) would naturally be protective of the Artist Formerly Known as “Bloody Mabel.” Having “Her” be Mabel would also give the Powers That Be an excuse to have Selena Gomez share scenes with her onetime Fundamentals of Caring costar.
Alice Is ‘Her’
On opening night, Mabel was seated with Oliver, Lucy and Joy, but not Alice. Cara Delevingne’s character played a big role in our central trio’s Killer Reveal party, and remained friendly with ex-girlfriend Mabel after Becky Butler and Detective Kreps were dragged away in handcuffs, so why else wouldn’t see be present at the show?
Emma Is ‘Her’
Charles’ oft-mentioned but never-before-seen ex-girlfriend, who is also Lucy’s mother, recently remarried — but her new husband remains a mystery.
Joy Is ‘Her’
The makeup artist’s presence on opening night suggests that she and Charles are still going strong after a year of dating. That’d mark Charles’ most successful relationship… ever?
Jan Is ‘Her’
Charles just couldn’t quit his murderous ex — that was, until he sent stunt double Sazz Pataki to Jan’s penitentiary to break up with her on his behalf. Is it possible he “relapsed”? For Joy’s sake, we sure hope not!
The lead actress in Oliver’s play is ‘Her’
