Original host of 'Cash Cab' Ben Bailey is coming to Lexington

Renowned comedian Ben Bailey will be performing at the Lexington Village Theatre later this month.

Bailey's standup comedy act will take place at 8 p.m. May 10 at the theatre. Bailey said he has been all over the country, but he has not been to Lexington before. He said he is look forward to a good show.

"I'm looking forward to the view of the lake," he said. "I love theaters too and it sounds like this one is going to be interesting."

The Lexington Village Theatre is located at 7318 Huron Ave. in Lexington. The show is now sold out.

Bailey said the standup act will focus on observational, silly and lighthearted material. He said his performance is aimed at a wide audience. People from their 20s into their 70s would find something to enjoy in the show.

"The crowd tends to be half 'Cash Cab' fans and half people who are fans of my stand up," Bailey said. "There's also some overlap in that. I think it will be a good time and everyone should come out."

Lexington Village Theatre General Manager Collin Westbrook said the theatre is very excited to bring Bailey to the area. He said bringing in this kind of top-notch talent is something they want to showcase and provide to the Blue Water Area.

"Ben Bailey has a great bit that is perfect for the audience that comes into Lexington," he said.

Westbrook said Bailey is bound to give a phenomenal show to his audience.
