PnB Rock was shot and killed last September, leaving behind his girlfriend Steph Sibounheuang. She reflected on how difficult it has been navigating the last year without him in an Instagram post.

“I’ve been in the deepest depression for a lil min contemplating todays date, which makes a year since your transition,” she wrote on Tuesday (Sept. 12), one year to the day of the “Selfish” artist’s passing after being shot at Roscoe’s Chicken And Waffles in Los Angeles.

“I argued with God about openly reliving this day and i absolutely did not want to, so this is an act of obedience. This same day last year, you could look into my eyes and and tell my soul was not in my body. All I could hear were the gunshots over and over and they were so LOUD I couldn’t hear myself think. I was so terrified and heartbroken.”

Sibounheuang wrote about a dream she had where the late rapper came to visit her and his daughter, Milan Allen. “You came to me and Lani wearing all white and said those were not gunshots, they were fireworks,” she said. “You did it! You changed for the better and you made it to paradise! Celebrate you!”

Steph Sibounheang resolved that after that moment, she would do as PNB Rock asked in the dream and celebrate him. “For I know this Earth is temporary and we will spend eternity together,” she wrote. “You’re a legend and not only that…but a here. I’m forever yours and forever loyal to you. I will live my life to the fullest because you gave your life for me. Thank you Lord for carrying us through a whole year and every day after this. 12/09 – 09/12 @pnbrock.”

A 17-year-old male and his father, Freddie Trone, were arrested in connection to the robbery and murder back in September 2022. They were charged with one count of first-degree murder, two counts of second-degree murder, and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. A 32-year-old woman, Shauntel Trone, was also arrested and considered an accessory to murder.

In the last year, multiple rappers have paid homage to Rock, namely Tee Grizzley, Gucci Mane, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The Bronx rapper shared the track “Needed That” featuring PnB back in December 2022 as a bonus to his LP Me Vs. Myself. Check out “Needed That” below.
