PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Mark the summer solstice with an action-packed weekend across the City of Portland.
The metro will host a multitude of events centering on food, music, movies and other forms of entertainment.

2001: A Space Odyssey in 70MM
When: Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 at 7 p.m.
Where: Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland, OR 97212
The historic Hollywood Theatre will screen an exclusive 70-millimeter version of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey.” Originally released in 1968, the science fiction film looks ahead to a spaceflight in the 21st century.
Gianmarco Soresi
When: Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Where: Helium Comedy Club, 1510 SE 9th Ave, Portland, OR 97214
Best known for his appearances on “The Late Late Show with James Corden” and Comedy Central, Gianmarco Soresi will bring his stand-up to the iconic Helium Comedy Club. The comedian also hosts the podcast titled “The Downside with Gianmarco Soresi.”
Foster Summer Soiree
When: Saturday, June 22 from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Communities on and around Foster Road will take over the area for an outdoor celebration consisting of vendors, pop-up shops and live music.

Our Corner Of the Sky: Pride On Broadway
When: Saturday, June 22 at 7 p.m.

Portland Gay Men’s Chorus is celebrating Pride Month with a performance that highlights well-known music from Broadway. “With show-stopping musical numbers and powerful stories, this concert celebrates the LGBTQ+ community’s resilience and love, leaving audiences inspired and uplifted,” event organizers said.
RENAISSANCE / RENAIDDANCE: Celebrating Beyoncé
When: Saturday, June 22 at 9 p.m.

Dress in your best metallic outfits or Western wear for this Beyoncé-focused party. DJs will play tracks from her most recent albums “Renaissance” and “Cowboy Carter,” along with other ballroom, country and techno tunes.
Portland Beer and Cheese Fest
When: Sunday, June 23 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Bauman’s Cider, 930 SE Oak St, Portland, OR 97214,
One of the final events of Portland Beer Week allows participants to pair cheese with drinks from 10 local breweries and cideries. One $50 ticket includes the 10 pairings, along with other snacks.

Royal Rosarian Milk Carton Boat Race

Head to Westmoreland Park’s casting pond to watch 35 teams face off in the annual Royal Rosarian Milk Carton Boat Race, hosted by the Royal Rosarian Foundation. The organization encourages attendees to bring a picnic lunch and lawn chairs to enjoy the competition.
