Ralph Lauren Debuts Team USA's Opening and Closing Ceremony Outfits for the Paris Olympics

"When I think of Ralph Lauren," Jagger Eaton says, "I think of America." Eaton, a 23-year-old Team USA skateboarder, will be dressed by Ralph Lauren—as will all of Team USA's athletes—at this summer's Olympic Opening and Closing ceremonies in Paris.

The brand, which Eaton describes as simply "iconic" is set to outfit American competitors for their ninth straight Games, and today, Town & Country is pleased to exclusively share a first look at the sketches for this summer's uniforms:

For the Opening Ceremony on July 26, each Team USA athlete will wear a quintessential Ralph Lauren outfit: a navy wool blazer paired with a striped oxford shirt, and a tapered blue jean. Meanwhile, athletes who walk in the Closing Ceremony on August 11 will be seen sporting a racing-style jacket, a classic polo shirt, and white denim jeans. "Ralph Lauren is profoundly honored to define the look of the American delegation as they represent our country in one of the world’s most celebrated and storied events," David Lauren, Ralph Lauren's Chief Innovation and Branding Officer, said today.

The entire Ralph Lauren Olympic 2024 collection draws inspiration from Paris and Olympic history, and, as one might expect, features the patriotic hues of red, white, and blue. "Ralph Lauren has once again created designs that not only capture the essence of American style but also embody the spirit and pride of Team USA," Sarah Hirshland, the CEO of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, said today. "As Team USA athletes prepare to represent the United States at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, this iconic apparel serves as a symbol of unity and inspiration for both our team and the millions of fans who will be cheering them on."

Eaton and his fellow U.S. teammates are excited to be outfitted by Ralph Lauren this summer. "Skateboarding's such a huge fashion industry," Eaton tells T&C. "For me, I'm so blessed I'm going to be dressed by a brand like Ralph Lauren which is just unbelievable. When I say I only enjoy skating when I dress properly—it's really true. I won't step out unless I get the outfit right." He adds, "To be in a position where I get outfitted by a brand that is not just iconic, but it also fits properly—like it'll fit really well when I'm skating in it, or walking around the village—it's just a really special thing for me."

Eaton, who will be competing in both the men's street and park skateboarding events, doesn't know yet if he'll be able to walk in the Paris Olympic Ceremonies due to his training and competition schedule. However, he was fortunate enough to have that experience in Tokyo, where he went on to win bronze, becoming the first American to ever medal in skateboarding. "It was the most unbelievable thing. The Opening Ceremony was the most unbelievable experience ever—walking in that sea of red, white and blue, all of us dressed in the nines in Ralph Lauren. It was super, super special for us."

The Paris Opening Ceremony will take place on July 26, 2024. It will air in the U.S. on NBC and Peacock.
