Rhuigi Villaseñor x Zara Return With Second Delivery of "RHU" Collaboration

If you weren't able to get your hands on Rhuigi Villaseñor's first collaboration with Zara, the fast fashion company has just released a second drop with the RHUDE designer.

The latest delivery -- comprising over 20 ready-to-wear pieces, five shoes and six bags -- is an expansion of the "RHU" collection, which is short for "Redesigning Human Uniform." Once again, Villaseñor applies his design aesthetic to Zara's garments, which are shot in a campaign by Willy Vanderperre. "The premise and the goal of this project remain the same: to enable young people with a real-world budget to access my aesthetic codes and design. RHU is an exercise in fashion democracy in which every piece is conceived, prototyped and produced with the values of dignity and accessibility front and center," the designer explains in a press release.

This specific drop, titled "Cross Country," aims to blur the lines between streetwear, luxury and sportswear with key pieces including a "RHU"-branded denim jacket and jeans set. The collection also features leather jackets in addition to loose-fitted jeans and boldly patterned tees. Elements of workwear, moto, climbing gear, Ivy League and more are incorporated into the designs. "Bagginess is comfortable and freeing, but they move between oversized and cropped or maybe tighter on the body to play with mixed proportions. And we keep looking to the future with the mix of prints and play of color. My only regret about this collection is that it was not available for me back when I was shaping my own identity and style through clothing," Villaseñor further explains.

In addition to the clothing and accessories, the designer has worked with Zara to create a new body spray dubbed "RHU."

In celebration of the collaboration, just in time for New York Fashion Week, the duo is hosting a special pop-up from February 11 to 18 at 146 Greene St, where customers can get their hands on the range before the global drop on February 20. Take a peek at the collection via the gallery above.
