First-ever Bachelorette Trista Sutter celebrates her 50th birthday with her husband, Ryan Sutter at the all new Sandals Royal Curaçao Resort on November 29, 2022 in Willemstad, Curacao.

Ryan Sutter says he and wife Trista Sutter are doing their “best” after sparking speculation of concern about the status of their marriage.

On Wednesday, May 29, Ryan, 49, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram alongside a black-and-white photo of Trista leaning her head on his shoulder as they looked out at the ocean.

“We do our best - to do and to be good, to live and to treat others well,” he shared in the caption.

Ryan noted the pair — who first met on The Bachelorette — make “decisions not knowing the outcome but hoping we’re on the right path - hoping the questions will be answered in time. We try to be a positive example, to care, to trust the process and to believe others will trust our intent is not malicious or misguided or mean.”

“We do our best to live towards a purpose- to build meaningful relationships and experiences and to contribute to a common good,” he continued. “We do our best to remain easy in a difficult world, to be honest in deceitful times and to be open when it’s safer to stay closed. We seek balance - teetering mostly back and forth but sometimes…. Sometimes we land in just the right spot.”

“Sometimes there are moments, moments like this one, in which we get a glimpse of just how beautiful life can be - how beautiful it is when we take time to appreciate the places and the people in them. To appreciate what and who we love most,” he concluded. “They are always out there - these moments - though not always easy to find. But we do our best….#love

The message comes three days after he shared a photo of a family vacation with The Bachelorette alum and their children, son Maxwell, 16, and daughter Blakesley, 14. In the post's caption, he noted that “absence makes the heart grow fonder” following speculation about the status of his and Trista's relationship status.

Earlier this month, Ryan sparked concern when he shared a cryptic Mother's Day post on May 12, revealing that Trista was spending the day away from him and their children.

He then shared another post on May 18, writing, "Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great."

The former firefighter continued, "Trista is at a place in life where she is searching a bit. An opportunity presented itself that may help her on that quest. With her family’s support, she has taken it. Part of that process means that she is temporarily inaccessible to us."

"I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day. I’d really like to hear your voice — just for a minute. So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone," Ryan had said in an earlier post that same day.

Over the weekend, Trista shared her own post, joking alongside a family photo, "Geez people. Can’t a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?! 😜🤣."
