Shanna Moakler Makes Rare Comment About Co-Parenting With Ex Travis Barker: 'Hard to Compete'

Shanna Moakler recently spoke out about co-parenting with her ex-husband, Travis Barker—and she admitted it's not always easy.

The 49-year-old model and actress made rare public comments about the Blink-182 drummer during the Friday, May 31 episode of SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live, during which she revealed that she "gave up" long ago on trying to compete with her ex as a parent.

"I gave up, I was never really trying to compete," she said of co-parenting her kids with Barker, 48, after they finalized their divorce in 2008. "I gave that up a long time ago."

"I was like, 'You win. Like, you're the winner,'" she added of her ex, with whom she shares son Landon, 20, and daughter Alabama, 18, as well as Atiana De La Hoya, 25 Moakler's daughter from a previous relationship.

"My ex is a very powerful, famous person, it’s kind of hard to compete on that level," Moakler further stated.

Barker has only become more famous in recent years since sparking a relationship with reality mega star Kourtney Kardashian.

The pair tied the knot in May 2022, and in late 2023, they welcomed their first child together, a son named Rocky Thirteen Barker. Kardashian, 45, also shares three kids, sons Mason, 14, and Reign, 9, and daughter Penelope, 11, with her ex, Scott Disick.

Moakler previously spoke out about what it's like to co-parent with Barker now that he's married to someone else, claiming on Bunnie XO's Dumb Blonde podcast that "there was some parental alienation going on" when Barker and Kardashian first got together.

The former beauty pageant queen also talked specifically about the entire Kardashian family, stating, "I think there was a lot of glitter and fame and [her kids] watched them on TV and now their dad is dating one and they’re going to be on the show."

"And I think they got caught up in that, which young kids would do," she added.

However, during her chat with Lewis, Moakler admitted that she was "happy" for Barker now that he has a new baby in the family.

"He’s in a good place, the kids love the new baby, my daughter’s obsessed with him and sends me cute pictures," she added, noting that she also congratulated Barker after Rocky was born.
