PANAMA CITY BEACH − Shipwreck Island Waterpark is set to kick off its Welcome Back Beach Bash during Memorial Day Weekend.

The three day celebration will be Saturday through Monday and will feature family activities, DJ sounds, contests and waterpark fun.

Following Memorial Day Weekend, the waterpark will be open daily for its summer schedule.

According to a news release by Shipwreck Island Waterpark, the park offers mat slides, high-speed racing slides, free-fall slides, inner-tube rides, a winding Lazy River and the massive Ocean Motion wave pool generating three-foot waves every 10 minutes.

“The little ones will enjoy several children’s activity pools, a children’s slide, and a playful fort topped off by a gigantic tipping bucket that unloads 700 gallons of water on awaiting guests every three or four minutes,” the release reads. “The waterpark also boasts new food outlets presenting a variety of culinary delights.”

Saturday and Sunday will feature a Hula-Hoop contest, water balloon toss, dance competition, watermelon-eating contest, sandcastle building, face painting, a stilt walker and DJ sounds. On Monday, the park features live music, sand castle building, a face painter and stilt walker.

The park’s hours on Saturday and Sunday will be 1030 a.m. to 5 p.m. Memorial Day hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Shipwreck Island is located at 12201 Hutchison Blvd.
