Sofia Coppola and her Priscilla film crew really got into pickleball during the making of her Priscilla Presley biopic.

In her interview with The Wall Street Journal, the filmmaker, 52, noted that one of her favorite memories from shooting Priscilla was when the movie's production "built a pickleball court on our shooting stage, and everyone started to play at lunch and we had a big tournament at the end."

"[Jacob Elordi] can play pickleball," Coppola said, when asked whether the 26-year-old actor who plays Elvis Presley in the new movie likes the sport.

"Our budget was always strained, low budget, and I was like, 'I wonder if I could raffle off a pickleball game with Jacob to raise money to get one more day of shooting,' " she added. "We didn’t, but he was a good sport. He indulged me, even though he’s not an enthusiast. I think he associates it with, like, Malibu moms."

Euphoria star Elordi plays Elvis opposite Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley herself. The movie is based on 78-year-old Priscilla's 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, which reframes the legendary couple's love story from her perspective.

Coppola recently told PEOPLE that she "was really nervous" to meet Priscilla while preparing to make the new movie. “[Priscilla] let me come interview her and ask her questions," she said at a Chanel and W magazine-hosted dinner celebrating her new book, Sofia Coppola Archive. "And she was very, very sweet. But I was nervous — I was like, this is my opportunity to talk to the subject matter, which I’ve never done before.”

“She was very kind and let me call her a lot as a follow-up, so when I’d be looking over my notes I could keep calling her,” Coppola said. “When I read the book I was really surprised that she was going to high school and living in Elvis’s house.”

Priscilla made its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in September, where Spaeny, 25, won the festival's award for best actress. The movie comes one year after director Baz Luhrmann's 2022 movie Elvis, which starred Austin Butler as the musician and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla in a story that also focused on Tom Hanks as Elvis's manager Col. Tom Parker.

Priscilla releases in theaters Nov. 3.
