Taylor Swift Defends Lady Gaga, Slams ‘Invasive & Irresponsible’ Pregnancy Rumors

Taylor Swift isn’t letting baseless pregnancy rumors make Lady Gaga feel down bad any longer. Shortly after the latter pop star shut down speculation about her body by using a song from the former’s The Tortured Poets Department, the “Anti-Hero” singer swooped in to defend her peer from “invasive and irresponsible” gossip.

“Can we all agree that its invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body,” Swift commented Wednesday (June 5) on Gaga’s TikTok video from the day before. “Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman.”

In the video, the Haus Labs founder had shown off her makeup and written, “Not pregnant–just down bad cryin at the gym,” referencing Swift’s Billboard Hot 100 hit “Down Bad.” The post seemingly came in response to pregnancy rumors that arose earlier this week, thanks to fans thinking they saw evidence of a baby bump in photos of Gaga attending her sister’s wedding.

Swift has also been the subject of online pregnancy rumors in recent weeks as overzealous fans have analyzed her form for signs of a bump in photos from her European Eras Tour shows. The 14-time Grammy winner previously spoke about how such speculation has negatively impacted her body image and mental health in Netflix’s 2020 documentary Miss Americana.

In fact, Gaga commented on a clip of Swift speaking about her eating disorder in the film after it re-circulated online last year. “That’s really brave everything you said 🖤 wow,” the “Rain on Me” artist wrote at the time.
