Fashion observers have noticed something different about Brittany Mahomes’ recent red carpet looks, and apparently she has her new NFL bestie to thank for it.

Venetia Kidd, a member of Taylor Swift’s style squad, created several of those head-turning outfits, including what Mahomes wore to the Super Bowl ring ceremony last week, after which Glamour magazine declared: “Brittany Mahomes has found her red-carpet mojo.”

Mahomes, co-owner of the KC Current soccer team and wife of Kansas Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, earned universal praise for what she wore to the event at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

“For the occasion, Brittany dressed on theme in head-to-toe Chiefs colors, from her ruby red off-the-shoulder dress to her matching satin clutch and all the way down to her stilettos, which nearly blended in with the red carpet,” Glamour noted.

“The tinsel-like texture of her gown was very much giving fireworks, a motif that was echoed in her star-shaped gold earrings.”

The Toronto-born Kidd has worked alongside Swift’s longtime stylist Joseph Cassell Falconer for six years, according to Us Weekly. She helped style several of the singer’s Eras Tour costumes and the “The Tortured Poets Department” album cover photoshoot.

Kidd has also had a hand in Swift’s own red carpet appearances, including the strapless Oscar de la Renta gown with cutouts the singer wore to the Eras Tour movie premiere in October.

Kidd chose de la Renta for Mahomes, too, for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue launch party in New York City last month. The magazine had featured Mahomes as a rookie in this year’s swimsuit issue.

Mahomes made a sexy splash on the SI red carpet in a shimmery, floral de la Renta gown from the Spring 2024 line.

“Embroidered with bugle beads,” the dress is made with “a paper-cut embroidery technique is made to ignite the red carpet,” the design house described on its Instagram.

Kidd upped the sizzle by pairing the dress with silver stiletto sandals with an ankle strap.

In May, Kidd helped Brittany stay cool and look even cooler at the Miami Grand Prix, styling her in a pink gingham Versace corset top ($1,790) and miniskirt ($1,290).

In April, Kidd dressed her in a cropped sequin top and floor-length black skirt at the Time 100 Gala where the magazine honored Patrick as one of the 100 most influential people of the year.

Mahomes joins a lengthy list of A-listers Kidd has styled, including Oprah Winfrey, Salma Hayek, Kerry Washington, Lady Gaga, Austin Butler and Taraji P. Henson, according to Kidd’s website.

Noting that “Mahomes has been on a style streak of late,” Glamour can’t wait to see what Mahomes and her new stylist create next.

The Mahomeses are currently in Europe for the beginning of a four-week vacation. They are said to have plans to catch one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts while there.

“As her star has continued to rise, Brittany Mahomes and her stylist, Venetia Kidd, have been booked and busy, and we expect more great step-and-repeat moments to come,” Glamour wrote.
