Thousands expected for the return of ‘Sacramento’s biggest party’

(FOX40.COM) — Capitol Mall is expected to be filled with tens of thousands of people for the return of HOF Day this weekend.

Billed as “Sacramento’s biggest party,” HOF Day’s highly anticipated return comes after a seven-year hiatus.

HOF Day will take place on Capitol Mall from 3rd to 5th streets from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. The block party features live performances, a car show, food, drink, and retail vendors, according to a map posted by the organizers.

The event is organized by HOF, a group that specializes in nightlife and entertainment in Sacramento. The group started in 2008 by throwing house parties around the city.

Only people 18-and-over are allowed inside the event while VIP areas will serve only those who are 21-and-over.

Is the event free? 

Free admission tickets are limited but are available with RSVP tickets online. The free RSVP tickets are valid until 6 p.m.

General admission tickets are $20 after 6 p.m., guaranteed entry tickets are $40 with VIP tickets costing $100. VIP tickets will allow attendees to have access to a separate VIP bar and food area. There’s also a separate entrance for VIP ticket holders on 5th Street.

What to know ahead of the event

Any items brought inside the event need be under 1 ½ feet by 1 ½ feet including bags and coolers, according to organizers.

Foldable chairs and blankets are allowed at the event. Chair height must be lower than 37 inches in the center section. Signs, flags, and posters may not be larger than 11 inches by 17 inches and can’t be attached to any stick or pole.
