Thursdays on the Water announces summer lineup

Jun. 21—North Tonawanda's Thursdays on the Water series has announced its seventh summer season.

The concerts will take place in July and August in Gratwick Riverside Park, with a main and opening act performing each Thursday after the Fourth of July weekend.

"It's a huge economic driver to our city," said Mayor Austin Tylec, "and a wonderful time with family and friends."

The series lineup is as follows:

—July 11 — Seventh Sign and Grand Illusion, a Styx tribute band.

—July 18 — El Scorcho, a Weezer tribute band, and Strictly Hip, a Tragically Hip tribute band.

—July 25 — Diver Down, a Van Halen tribute band, and a to be announced act.

—Aug. 1 — Blood, Sugar, Sex Magik, a Red Hot Chili Pepper Tribute band, and Dizzy Reed of Guns N' Roses.

—Aug. 8 — West of the Mark and West of the Mark Prime Project. A guest country DJ will be performing from 5 to 6 p.m.

—Aug. 15 — Crush Crush Crush, and Tiny Music, a Stone Temple Pilots tribute band.

—Aug. 22 — Flip Side and Nerds Gone Wild.

—Aug. 29 — The Remakes and That 80's Hair Band.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with opening acts going on at 6 p.m. The headlining band plays from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Niagara County Legislator and JG Productions CEO Jesse Gooch reiterated the concert rules, which are no outside beverages, no large purses, bags, or backpacks, pets are only allowed on a leash, and chairs and blankets are allowed.

The free events feature food from the Meeting Place, Solidays, Billy's Beef, Miami Food Machine, Tipsi Whips, Lugia's Ice Cream, and Outlaw Popcorn.

During the shows, fundraising will take place for the Buffalo Underdogs Rescue, which received a $1,000 Groupie Sponsorship through an online nomination process. The organization is working to raise $8,000 for saving the leg of Martha, one of their dogs. Hope Rises News, which tells uplifting stories across Western New York, will also be on hand raising money for non-profits.
