Bachelorette parties symbolize a series of different things: the start of a new chapter, the pre-party to any even biggest celebration, and, most importantly, the end of an era. For Vanessa Hudgens, who is getting ready to tie the knot with her fiancé, baseball player Cole Tucker, she chose to focus on the latter for her big night with the girls.

As shared on Instagram, the High School Musical alum celebrated her bachelorette party in style during a girls’ trip to Aspen, Colorado. “Love a theme night,” the actress wrote in the caption. “Can you guess what it was?” In the pictures, Hudgens can be seen wearing a delicate plunging white lace gown with a sheer veil and matching sheer gloves. Her friends, on the other hand, are all seen rocking dark black looks decked out with fascinators, plenty of lace and even a black veil.

In the comments, followers of the star are putting their bets on what the theme could be. “Corpse Bride too easy,” guessed one commenter. “Til death do us party 🤷🏽‍♀️😅,” guessed another. “It’s a funeral for your singlehood, how French!!” commented another.

If you ask us, we’re thinking that last guess is totally correct. The theme comes from the French term for a bachelorette party, “enterrement de vie de célibataire,” which literally translates to “funeral of single life.” And, knowing we’re fully in spooky season right now, a funeral-inspired party seems perfectly fitting.

In attendance at the bash were fellow actress Sarah Hyland, Alexandra Shipp, Laura New, Morgan Marcell, Hudgens’ sister Stella and more. “Dress code: All Black for the Bride in White 🖤,” Hyland wrote in her Instagram caption. “Lots to gain while mourning the loss of my BF’s single life 💀,” New wrote in her post.

Although details on when and where Hudgens and Tucker’s wedding will take place are still unclear, the party will undoubtedly be just as extravagant.

Hudgens and Tucker, who were first spotted together in 2020, have been engaged since 2022. Talking Entertainment Tonight, Hudgens gushed about her soon-to-be-husband. “He’s just kind of perfect for me… I am [happy]. I really am,” she told the outlet. “I’m so, so grateful. I think that it’s also so important to stay grateful for everything that you have in life. I’ve been making that a priority, and I feel like it’s just been making magic happen all the more.”
