Viera Rock Fest returns to USSSA Stadium

The boys - and girls - of rock are taking over space from the boys of summer to make way for Viera Rock Fest.

It’s the second annual go-round for the rock-solid festival that encourages local rock groups to let the music play at USSSA Stadium in Viera on Saturday, Aug. 26.

The schedule should keep fans of rock happy, since the music starts at 4 p.m. with band Positive Chaos performing at the stadium’s helipad. Drawing inspiration from the Foo Fighters, Blind Melon and Clutch, the five-piece Melbourne group features heavily distorted guitar licks, driving drums and bass, grungy vocals and an electric violin, just because it sounds great. The band will play until 5:30 p.m.

Two other groups at opposite sides of the concourse will perform from 4:30 until 5:30 p.m. On the left concourse is American rock singer/songwriter and produce Daniel Jüde. After three years as a professional model with brands like Louis Vuitton, Jüde realized music was his true calling. His has been part of multiple Florida music festivals and has been showcased on radio around North America and Europe. He runs Electric Temple Studios, where he produces, mixes and master for artists around the country.

On the right concourse will be Jake Salter with Tru Phonic. In just two years, Tru Phonic has gained a solid social media following with tens of thousands of streams. The show runs until 5:30 p.m.

Before the main stage performers begin at 6 p.m., there will be time to grab some food and drink from the concessions or from the food truck circle that includes IDK, Beach Bums Sweet Teas and Space Coast Tater Tops.

At 6 p.m., all eyes and ears will be on the main stage show, which opens with local favorite Hot Pink, an eclectic group of seasoned musicians who have delighted Central Florida audiences for more than a decade with their soulful guitar, powerful vocals and thick rhythms. The can play pretty much anything from Queen to The Beatles.
