Viva! El Paso, Anime Fest, Taylor Swift laser show among things to do in El Paso

Viva! El Paso returns for its 46th season this weekend, Friday, June 21, through Saturday, June 22, at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater.

The iconic El Paso summer tradition features a book by Marty Martin and music by Cody Ritchey and Jim Ward. Viva highlights include fan-favorite dances such as the Deer Dance, Folklorico, Flamenco, and regional favorites from Vera Cruz and Jalisco.

Pride Month continues with Pride Fest on Saturday at Ascarate Park with plenty of music. The Anime Fest comes to the El Paso convention center. And for some women power, check out the Roller Derby on Saturday at Nations Tobin Recreation Center.

Viva! El Paso opens its 46th season Friday, June 21, with performances continuing weekends through Saturday, Aug. 3, at McKelligon Canyon. Performances are at 8 p.m. Tickets are $16 and $11 for kids, plus fees, available at Ticketmaster.com.

Evening Mystical Market

Tooth and Veil Oddities & Macabre Shop will hold an Evening Mystical Market from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 21, at Keystone Heritage Park, 4200 Doniphan Drive. The event will feature live performers, a community ritual, vendors and loteria.

Pride Fest brings music to Ascarate Park

The Pride Fest 2024 will start at 1 p.m.  Saturday, June 22, at Ascarate Park. There will be three performance stages, with the DJ and Banda stages under a canopy and the main stage open air. General admission tickets for 10 to 20 are $35, and $30 for 21 and over are available at www.universe.com.

Roller Derby fun at Nations Tobin

El Paso Roller Derby will feature the TexPistols vs Hard at 5:30 p.m. June 22 at Nations Tobin Recreation Center, 8831 Railroad Dr. Tickets are $10. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets will be $15 and $10 for active military with ID at the door. Kids 10 and under get in free with a paying ticket.

Anime El Paso Festival this weekend

El Paso Comic Con and El Paso Liveproudly announce the arrival of the Anime El Paso Festival at the El Paso convention center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 23. Anime El Paso is a community-based pop culture experience focusing on the Anime/Manga genre. The event will have celebrity guest appearances, including Beau Billingslea's "Cowboy Bebop" and Melissa Fahn's "Invader Zim," panels, and workshops.

Ticket pricing includes a $150 VIP pass, a $50 weekend pass, a $30 Saturday ticket and a $25 Sunday ticket. A child day pass for children 3-12 is $5 and children 2 and under are free with a paid adult pass. Military passes include a $40 weekend pass, a $25 Saturday pass and a $20 Sunday pass. Rodeo coming up at El Paso County Coliseum

Starr Western Wear's Rodeo will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano Drive. Tickets start at $10, plus fees, available at Ticketmaster.com.

El Paso History Museum has new exhibit

The El Paso Museum of History has a new exhibit, Neighborhoods & Shared Memories: Rio Grande to Franklin Heights, at 510 N. Santa Fe St. The exhibit will be up through May 2025.

Tayor Swift laser show

Taylor Shines: The Laser Spectacular Show, live with DJ Tiff and DJ JC at 7:30 p.m. June 22 at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets range from $23 to $45, plus fees, available at Ticketmaster.com. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
