Where to get 6 cold cocktails to cool off with during hot Austin nights
We're hot, you're hot, it's too hot. If you're not swimming or sticking your head in the freezer, may we suggest a cold cocktail to cool off?
We've rounded up some of our favorite sips for hot summer nights. Check them out:
Frozen Irish Coffee at Nickel City
1133 East 11th St.
If there's one thing we love, it's frozen drinks because there's nothing better than feeling like you're drinking a slushie. Nickel City's "Frozen Irish Coffee" is made with Tullamore D.E.W. Irish whiskey, coffee liqueur and cream. The tasty drink is $13, but lucky for us, you get $1 off when the temperature is more than 99 degrees. That basically makes this drink $12 all the time, right?
La Tunita at El Naranjo
2717 S. Lamar Blvd., Suite 1085
El Naranjo's perfectly pink drink of the month, the "La Tunita" is made with Dulce Vida Silver tequila, red prickly pear puree, kéfir lime syrup, St. Germain, lime juice and rimmed with Jamaica (hibiscus blossoms) house-made salt. Is it too goofy to say we want to slurp this one up? It's perfectly tasty and costs $18.

The Lovebird at Lovebirds
2337 E. Cesar Chavez St.
Turns out, if a drink is in a fun glass, we love it even more. Like, hello, a bird?! Amazing. The "Lovebird" at Lovebirds is made with Dos Hombres Mescal, white rum, campari, pineapple, lime and simple syrup. The drink is $16. We promise you'll have fun drinking out of a bird.
The Salty Perro at Licha's Cantina
1306 East Sixth St.
Summer makes us crave grapefruit-based drinks and this is a simple and refreshing one to try out. The "Salty Perro" at Licha's Cantina is made with Deep Eddy's grapefruit vodka, lime, agave and grapefruit soda. It's $14.

Another frozen option? Sign us up. Holiday on 7th's frozen Mexican martini is an invigorating take on a classic. It's made with LALO blanco tequila, triple sec, lime, salt and olive brine. The drink is $18 and as a bonus, it comes in a cute cactus glass.
Uncle Nicky's Spritz at Uncle Nicky's
4222 Duval St.
Spritz season is still in session and we highly recommend the "Uncle Nicky's Spritz" at Uncle Nicky's. The drink is $12 and is made with Aviation gin, Italicus, prosecco and grapefruit cordial. The spritz is $7 during happy hour, which runs every day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
