Jubilee first appeared in the “Uncanny X-Men” in 1989 as a teenage mutant capable of generating explosive plasmoids from her hands. She was often portrayed wearing a yellow raincoat.
Singer will direct the film from a script by Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty.
Jennifer Lawrence confirmed Monday that “Apocalypse” will be her last film in the franchise.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and Rose Byrne reprising their roles along with franchise newcomers Oscar Isaac and Kodi Smit-McPhee. Neither Ian McKellen nor Patrick Stewart will be returning as their older iterations of Magneto and Professor X.
The film is set for a May 27, 2016, release.
