YFN Lucci Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison, 10 Years Probation

YFN Lucci has been sentenced to 20 years under close watch after pleading guilty to one count of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act on Tuesday (Jan. 23). Lucci, né Rayshawn Bennett, was initially facing more felony charges, including murder, as part of a 75-page, 105-count RICO indictment.
According to WSB-TV, the Atlanta rapper was ordered to 10 years in prison and 10 years on probation, with credit for already serving three years in Fulton County jail. His time served also reportedly makes him eligible for parole in three and a half months.
WSB-TV reporter, Michael Seiden, sat in on the trial where he broke the news of Lucci’s possible early release. “As part of his negotiated plea, YFN Lucci was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but after serving a 1/3 of his sentence, he is eligible for parole,” he wrote. “After getting credit for time served, he will be eligible for parole in 3.5 months.”
Reportedly, The State has also agreed to “not fight” Lucci’s parole, giving his defense confidence that he will be released early from prison.
Lucci surrendered himself in 2021 in regards to a December 2020 shooting that took place in Atlanta. The incident tragically killed a 28-year-old man and injured another.
Per legal documents, the “Everyday We Lit” rhymer was declared as the getaway driver, but not the shooter.
The 32-year-old rejected an initial plea deal by prosecutors which would have saw him serve 17 of 20 years in prison. His attorneys, Drew Findling and Gabe Banks, told TMZ that they found the deal to be “absurd.”
Seiden also reported that upon sentencing, Lucci apologized to a victim’s family and his own family and friends in court.
