When former President Donald Trump takes the debate stage against President Joe Biden Thursday night, among those monitoring his performance could be the federal prosecutors seeking to take Trump to trial on criminal charges of attempting to subvert the last presidential election. In previous filings in their case against Trump -- which remains stalled as the Supreme Court weighs his claim of presidential immunity -- prosecutors have singled out comments Trump made in presidential debates in both 2016 and 2020 that they said could be introduced at an eventual trial. The exchanges, prosecutors claim, would be used to help them prove to a jury Trump's intent and state of mind as he engaged in his alleged criminal effort to overturn his 2020 election loss to Biden.

White noise machines for infants can be dangerously loud, study says
A new study published in the journal Sleep Medicine analyzed existing data about sound levels of white noise machines and concluded that many devices can produce sounds louder than recommended for even adult workers – making them capable of being too loud for infants, who are more susceptible to negative effects of loud noises. "Those devices exceeded what is appropriate for hearing health for any individual, just walking around and living their life," Dr. Isaac Erbele, one of the study's authors who specializes in ear and skull surgeries at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, told ABC News. Current pediatric sound guidelines do not offer parents a specific decibel cutoff for white noise machines.

At Boeing factory, airplane manufacturer touts changes since door plug blowout
For the first time since the Alaska door plug blowout, Boeing brought reporters into the Boeing 737 MAX factory in Renton, Washington. According to the explanation from Boeing officials, the fuselage came to Boeing damaged from the supplier. The overnight Move Team put the door plug back on to seal the aircraft from the outdoor elements but didn’t install the bolts (that’s not their job, and they expected it to be handled by the other team), the Boeing reps on-site said.

Teen inmate charged in death of juvenile prison staff member
A 16-year-old inmate at a juvenile correctional facility in Wisconsin faces homicide and murder charges after a staff member he is accused of attacking died, court records show. The staff member -- identified as 49-year-old Corey Proulx -- suffered critical injuries while attempting to detain a juvenile inmate after the teen allegedly attacked another staff member at the school, according to DOC.

A study from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) published Wednesday found that multivitamins won't help extend your life, with researchers reporting, "multivitamin use to improve longevity is not supported." The study found no evidence that daily multivitamin consumption reduced the risk of death from conditions such as heart disease or cancer.

Big rig smashes into New Jersey home
First responders rushed to the scene of a truck crash that tore through a house in Carteret, New Jersey, on Wednesday afternoon. The tractor-trailer appeared to crash through a fence and slam into a house located on Chrome Avenue off Industrial Highway/Middlesex Avenue. The Borough of Carteret said in a statement that the driver of the tractor-trailer had a "medical incident" before the crash.

Four people, including two children, were injured in a shooting at a gas station in Milwaukee on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the Milwaukee Police Department told ABC News they are seeking multiple "unknown suspects." The two children, ages 4 and 9, were brought to the hospital with "non-fatal injuries."

A new report by the World Health Organization, which looked broadly at global substance use for people 15 years and older, shows over 3 million people died from substance use in 2019 and 400 million people live with substance use disorders, which can have a number of negative health impacts. According to the report, 2.6 million deaths were due to alcohol use and 206 million people had alcohol dependence.

12-year-old graduates from high school, heading to college for double degree
Twelve-year-old Suborno Isaac Bari is graduating from Malverne High School in Malverne, New York, Wednesday, making him the youngest scholar to ever graduate from the history of the Nassau County school, according to Malverne Union Free School District. Suborno told "Good Morning America" he's excited to graduate and it's been a "long" journey for him so far, even though the high school senior skipped 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th and 11th grades – completing his 4th, 8th, 10th and 12th grades in Malverne Union Free School District while passing the New York State Regents examinations to graduate. Rebecca Gottesman, the director of K-12 school counseling at Malverne Union Free School District, has been in education for the last 25 years and called Suborno, whom she first met as a fourth grader, "a prodigy."

Man indicted in siblings' double murder from 1990 after he's linked via DNA
Thirty-four years after a brother and sister were murdered, a man has been indicted in the slayings when he was linked to the cold case via DNA, Georgia prosecutors said. John Sumpter was stabbed and his sister, Pamela Sumpter, was raped and stabbed at their Stone Mountain apartment on July 15, 1990, according to the DeKalb County District Attorney's Office. John Sumpter, 46, died at the scene, prosecutors said.

Five people have been charged in connection with an alleged plot to bribe a juror with $120,000 cash during a federal trial over pandemic relief fraud. For American consumers who enjoy adding slices of smoked salmon to a bagel or other breakfast dishes, it's time to check the refrigerator, because one producer of the famed Norwegian export has recalled products from stores in 15 states. Netherlands-based Foppen Seafood issued a recall for one lot of its Smoked Norwegian Salmon Slices after routine testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes, the company announced in a statement dated June 22 and shared on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website Wednesday.

Texas hospital is reportedly 1st in US to use holograms for doctor-patient visits
A Texas hospital could be the first in the United States to use a technology that allows doctors to visit patients via hologram. Crescent Regional Hospital, located in Lancaster -- about 13 miles south of Dallas -- has installed "Holobox," a 3D system that projects a life-sized hologram of a doctor so that they can perform real-time consults with patients at a clinic 30 miles away. Designed by Dutch company Holoconnects, the display is 86 inches tall and only requires electricity and internet to connect, according to the company.
