A coalition of racial justice and civil rights nonprofit advocacy organizations are formally joining the fight to prevent a ban on TikTok. The Asian American Federation, Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California, Calos Coalition and Hispanic Heritage Foundation are among the 13 groups arguing that TikTok serves as an essential platform for communities of color and other marginalized groups. "TikTok is a modern-day digital town square that empowers diverse communities, often neglected by traditional media outlets, to share their underrepresented voices with people across America and the world," lawyers from the firm Cooley LLP wrote in a court filing expected to be filed Thursday on behalf of the coalition.

Walgreens plans to close a large share of its U.S. stores over the next three years, Chief Executive Tim Wentworth said on a conference call with industry analysts on Thursday. Boeing will be subject to sanctions for disclosing non-public information about an ongoing federal investigation into how a door plug blew out of one of its 737 Max 9 planes, the National Transportation Safety Board said on Thursday. Officials accused the airplane manufacturer of "blatantly" violating a signed agreement with the NTSB, under which the company has party status to investigation information that hasn't otherwise been made public. "During a media briefing Tuesday about quality improvements at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, a Boeing executive provided investigative information and gave an analysis of factual information previously released," the NTSB said in a press release.
Scientists in South Africa on Tuesday inserted radioisotopes into the horns of live rhinoceroses in a groundbreaking anti-poaching project. Twenty rhinos at The Rhino Orphanage in Mokopane, Limpopo District, South Africa, had the radioscopes inserted into their horns, in what is the first the first such project of its kind. "Every 20 hours in South Africa a rhino dies for its horn," said James Larkin, Project a professor and leader at the University of Witwatersrand's Rhisotope Project.
