“This is quite possibly my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed in. My friends and I rented this home over Halloween weekend a few years ago and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house is sprawling and so unique. The main living area (which includes the kitchen, dining room and living room) is super modern and sleek, with second floor bedrooms, a wonderful master bath and an entertainment room. As you make your way through the attached part of the home, you enter an 1850s farmhouse structure, which has been beautifully updated but maintains a ton of vintage charm, with wood-burning fireplaces throughout and even an antique wood-burning stove. There are a ton of different spaces for the group to spread out in, but the kitchen, dining room and living room are all more than accommodating when it comes to getting everyone together. “My crew and I loved this industrial-cool hideaway when we rented it out over Memorial Day weekend a few summers ago. Thanks to its large backyard, al fresco picnic table and accompanying pool, it was the perfect spot to make a splash and ring in summer. Should you want to explore the surroundings, you’re only a couple of miles from Woodstock’s town center as well as Saugerties, and you’re walking distance to a beloved local swimming hole, Little Deep.
12. Birch & Buck (Hunter)
(Heated) pool with a view? Yes, please. Come take a dip in a deck pool that offers sweeping views of the mountains at Birch & Buck. Here, you’re on a secluded 13 acres with woodland as far as the eye can see. “In addition to merely counting how many beds a home has, you should consider other areas of the home where your large group will congregate,” advises Maida, who has planned quite a few group trips herself. “For example, is the dining room table large enough to seat everyone for dinner? Is the sofa in the living room able to accommodate everyone for a movie night? Is there a big enough outdoor area that everyone can gather ‘round the fire pit? Larger kitchens with plenty of counter space are also a must if you’re planning on cooking a big meal with your crew.”
