Whenever I scroll through house tours, I always notice the little styling details — specifically, how elegant stems of foliage are artfully displayed in beautiful vases, and how much dimension and life greenery can add to a space.

I would love to be someone who could forage in their own yard for branches and flowers to use as decor, but I live in New York City, and therefore, I don’t have trees at my disposal the way I would if I had a yard. Even if I did, though, I can’t imagine clipping things all the time because I’m the type that likes to set it and forget it when it comes to florals.

So I found the best solution: $20 faux branches from Amazon, which look so convincing that even my mother thought they were real!

I ordered these branches at the recommendation of someone I follow on Instagram. She had them in her own living room and styled them so nicely that I assumed they were live branches from her yard or sourced from a speciality plant store, but I was wrong. I did a little bit of digging through her account and located the exact branches on Amazon. One quick Prime order later, and now they’re on top of the mantel in my living room.

The branches fill the negative space above my mantel beautifully by bringing height to the whole vignette I’ve styled. They’re easy to bend as needed, so they can be stuffed into a smaller vase, or you can trim them with pliers for the perfect fit in your chosen vessel.

What I like most about these, though, is the realistic leaf placement, which is key when shopping for faux branches and florals. It’s also amazing to not have to change the vase’s water, which you still should do with live branches. Of course, you don’t need water at all, but you could if you’re working with a clear vase and are committed to that air of realness.

I’d like to order another set for a tall vessel I have in my bedroom and could see myself grabbing a few more to use for centerpieces when I entertain. If you’re hosting a summer gathering or just are looking for a chic, permanent centerpiece for your table, I couldn’t recommend these branches more. You can thank me later when all of the “Oh my goodness, I totally thought these were real!” comments come your way.
