28 Weeks Later Sequel Confirmed
It’s been almost 28 years since 28 Weeks Later released in cinemas. That means it’s the perfect time to start work on the zombie film’s second sequel.
The film is a follow-up to 2007’s 28 Weeks Later, which takes place 28 weeks after the outbreak of a deadly zombie virus.
It unites director Danny Boyle and screenwriter Alex Garland. Boyle helmed 2002’s 28 Days Later, while Garland wrote it.

Sony Pictures has reportedly greenlit the next two films in the series. Garland will write the scripts for both, while Boyle has currently only been confirmed for the first.
Cillian Murphy, who starred in 28 Days Later, is reportedly signed on as executive producer.
Previously, there were rumors of a sequel to 28 Weeks Later called 28 Months Later, but enough time has passed now that 28 Years Later is the more appropriate title.
Less appropriate is the Peter Pan horror film which just shared its disturbing first image.
