Officials who work hard to preserve the City of Alliance’s history have created a special way for the Carnation City’s residents to dive deeper into the past. The East Main Street Historic District Walking Tour of downtown Alliance was dedicated Saturday during a special ceremony at the newly renamed Carnation Caboose. While the tour carries the East Main Street name, stops also are set up along East Market Street. The tour is designed for those interested to pick up at any point along the pathway, with signs designating the specific location, and each is numbered and has a QR code from which those with a smartphone or tablet can dive deeper into its history. Stops include such sights as the City Administration Building at 502 E. Main St.; retailers such as Mac’s Attic and Pocket Change; entertainment stops like the Troll Hole Museum and Carnation City Players. Food and drink stops include Towne Tavern, Mad Dogs Crazy Cats Café and Sisters Social.
