Fresh off of Taylor Swift’s blockbuster 2023 North American Eras tour, with sold-out stadium shows in 19 states, you might assume fans would take a hiatus from the friendship bracelets and bejeweled outfits. Well, you'd be wrong: TikTok creator @elishakristine5 put a Swiftie twist on spooky season when she dressed up her 12-foot Home Depot skeleton as the pop phenomenon, and people are loving it. In a subsequent post, she asks, “Is it Swiftober yet?” With nearly 1 million views and 173,000 likes on the first video and 111,000 views and 20,000 likes on the second (and it’s not even officially fall!), Swift's influence clearly has no limits.

Halloween lovers have been selling out the popular yard decoration known as Skelly for years now, setting a flashy standard for holiday decor everywhere. While Taylor Swift skeletons may set off the dressing-up trend in your neighborhood, you can find plenty of other ways to personalize your tall, bony friend. Once you’ve got yours, get creative and dress him to go with your frightening and festive decor.

In 2020, creator @ofallthingsali dressed up her “Skelly" in a different outfit every day in October—check out her content for an abundance of inspiration. As @eldestmillennial confirmed in this video, you can never go wrong with Barbiecore. Of course, you can always just scroll through TikTok or Instagram, using the hashtag #12footskeleton, for ideas.

You don’t have to limit your Skelly to Halloween regalia, either: Leave him up throughout the holiday season and dress him accordingly. Go for a turkey theme for Thanksgiving, a skinny bag-of-bones Santa for Christmas, or add a tux t-shirt and top hat for New Year’s Eve. And why stop at Skelly when there are plenty of oversized ghouls to choose from at Home Depot? Add a towering ghost and a hovering witch to your front yard welcoming party, and trick-or-treaters will flock to your door.

If you’re deciding on a Halloween look for yourself, pick up a skeleton costume, add a blonde wig and some red lips, and you can be a real-life Taylor Swift Skelly. Whatever you do, don’t forget the friendship bracelets.
