Amazing Transformation of Rescued Puppy Mill Goldendoodle Is Awe-Inspiring

A former puppy mill dog got the second chance she needed — and now life is so good. The woman who adopted the dog, Amira, recently shared her Goldendoodle's miraculous transformation. And seeing the dog's "before-and-after" videos has people in the comments section totally sobbing.

The video goes to show just how damaging puppy mills are.

Little Daisy Bean was in rough shape when she first went home with her new owner. But the video that her owner recently shared shows her incredible progress.

When Daisy Bean was first rescued she was practically skeletal. As a clip from that time shows, she was used to sleeping standing up and "didn't feel safe or [know] how to be a dog," Amira explained in the caption.

It must've taken some time, but eventually Amira's love and care paid off. In an "after" clip, Daisy Bean is a whole new animal. The Goldendoodle has a sparkle in her eye, she runs with all her might to her owner, and her coat has come back nice and full.

"To be loved is to be changed," her mama wrote in the onscreen caption. "She doesn't know it but she’s the one who saved me," she added in the caption.

The story left so many people in the comments section heartbroken. "The first video actually made my heart hurt. Thank you for saving her. God bless you," one person praised. "Puppy mills need to be banned. There’s absolutely no reason to be overbreeding mixed breeds," another person chimed in. "People need to realize how bad puppy mills are… thank you for saving this momma," a third commenter wrote.

Ways to Stop Puppy Mills

Daisy Bean's story should be a message to all of us — puppy mills need to come to an end. One way you can help the fight against puppy mills is by going to your local pet retail store and encouraging them to be puppy-friendly. That means they'll refuse to sell puppies and will instead become a hub for people to adopt older dogs in need of a good home.

If you want to take things to the next level, you can reach out to your federal legislators and tell them you are concerned about puppy mills and want the issue to be a priority for congress.

In short, the best way to help end puppy mills is to be an advocate. Raise awareness, get involved in your local animal rights groups, and share information about the dangers of puppy mills with your circle. Animal abuse is a serious issue. There are so many other dogs out there like Daisy Bean, but sadly not all of them will get the second shot she did.
