An opening night on Broadway is always exhilarating, but last week at the Hudson Theatre, things were positively buzzing. Head Over Heels, the new musical based on the iconic tracks of female rock stars from the 1980s, celebrated its inaugural performance in front of a star-studded crowd that included forces of fashion Anna Sui, Anna Wintour, and Marc Jacobs, along with cultural icons such as Gloria Steinem. Also holding court were Broadway producers Jordan Roth (wearing Sies Marjan) and Richie Jackson, who chatted with such theater veterans as Cory Michael Smith and Matthew Morrison.

After the show, which saw RuPaul’s Drag Race star Peppermint make her Broadway debut, fellow queens Eureka O’Hara, Dusty Ray Bottoms, and more partied long into the night at Guastavino’s under the stars.
