An Avocado Museum Is Coming and It Features a ‘Ripe Room’

First, there was the Museum of Ice Cream. Next, there was the Museum of Candy. And now, in the most millennial move ever, our favorite stone fruit is getting its time to shine. Introducing The Cado, a pop-up museum coming to San Diego this summer to celebrate all things avocado.

The museum will be built out of 16 shipping containers and feature interactive exhibits, including a 100-foot ombré hallway where you can simulate what it would be like to walk through an avocado (we all need that experience), and a “ripe room,” which will use textured walls to teach visitors how to pick the perfect avocado.

Naturally, the pop-up will be super Instagrammable, with a selfie-friendly bathroom dedicated to the fruit’s beauty benefits. There will also be a gift shop and eatery with avocado foods (including milk and cereal...we’re intrigued), plus avocado-themed swag like T-shirts and badges.

The museum opens in San Diego this June and tickets are on sale now. Bring on the #avotoast.
