‘Bonding’ on Netflix Is Feisty, Fresh and Only Fifteen Minutes Per Episode

If you happen to stumble upon Bonding during your nightly Netflix scroll, we highly recommend you give it a shot.

The dark comedy has been gaining popularity on the streaming service for two main reasons: 1. The raunchy humor is laugh-out-loud funny. And 2. it’s an insanely fast watch, even though it has two seasons. (Since the episodes are around 15 minutes long, it’s ideal for people who have small attention spans or little to no time to spare.)

So, what’s all the hype about? Bonding is basically a satirical version of Fifty Shades of Grey. The story follows a grad student named Tiff, who’s moonlighting as a dominatrix in New York City. She’s found success in following her motto of “all business, no pleasure.”

However, Tiff decides to get some help from her former BFF Pete (who recently came out as gay), hiring him as her personal assistant. Together, they build a dark professional relationship, all while rekindling the friendship they nearly forgot existed.

Bonding features an up-and-coming cast, including Zoe Levin (Tiff), Brendan Scannell (Pete), Micah Stock (Doug), Theo Stockman (Josh), Matthew Wilkas (Rolph), Alex Hurt (Frank) and Gabrielle Ryan (Portia).

The series was directed by Rightor Doyle (Nerve), who also wrote the scripts alongside Franciska Friede (Section F), Nana Mensah (The King of Staten Island) and Olivia Troy (B-Boy Blues).
