Guilty as charged!
Cats often look shocked when they're caught in the act, with their eyes wide open and their ears perked up, and some cats are expert actors and will try to play it cool, acting as if they weren't doing anything wrong at all.
As if Momo were saying, "Oh hi! I don't know what you saw, but it's not what it looks like. I swear!"
Many cats will make a hasty exit when they realize they've been caught as if they're trying to escape the scene of the crime, not Momo. He just stood there and pretended nothing happened.
My cat would still misbehave even when I was in the same room as him. That's why I can't have plants or a rug, as he would eat and destroy them.
In rare cases, cats will exhibit a guilty or remorseful expression, complete with lowered ears and a hunched posture.
I've still got to experience that.
It's essential to remember that chewing on plants can be harmful to cats, as many houseplants are toxic to them. So if you're a new cat owner, definitely research which plants are safe for cats, and don't yell at your cat but instead reward good behavior with a treat.
