Chamber welcomes winery to area

May 4—TRUMBULL TOWNSHIP — Day Dream winery owners Craig and Suzi Day gathered with customers, friends and family to celebrate the opening of the business on Saturday afternoon.

The Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the winery's development in the area after opening last August.

Craig Day manned the large scissors to cut the ribbon while his wife Susie held a large bow to celebrate the event. Dozens of customers, friends, family and staff gathered for the ceremony and to pose for pictures.

"On behalf of the Ashtabula Area Chamber of Commerce we are absolutely excited to be here," said AACC Executive Director Greg Church.

Day thanked everyone for attending the ceremony "from the bottom of my heart."

Ashtabula County Commissioner J.P. Ducro welcomed the business to the community and thanked the Days for becoming part of the Ashtabula County agri-tourism winery industry.

Craig Day said they have lived on the property since 2009 and opened the winery last August. He said the business is off to a great start.

"The community and winery support has been tremendous," he said.

Day said the winery will host food trucks on weekends and has charcuterie board options on Thursday. Live music was scheduled for afternoon and evening options on Saturday.
