Chris Pine Sparks Social Media Frenzy With Unique Post-Workout Look

Chris Pine is certainly settling into his eccentric middle-aged man era with aplomb. And his penchant for bold colors paired with comfortable, mismatched pieces was likewise on full display while leaving a dance class in Los Angeles last Friday.

The 43-year-old has been serving up increasingly quirky and colorful red carpet looks in recent years, such as the Ralph Lauren cocoa brown tuxedo jacket with a matching bowtie, cream-colored hemmed slacks, and sock-less leather loafers that nearly overshadowed the drama at last year's Don't Worry Darling Venice premiere. In fact, Pine's style is what led GQ to recently proclaim that the Dungeons & Dragons star is "quite frankly, freaking it."

But even then, all things considered, no one was prepared for Pine's latest ensemble, which consisted of a bright rainbow-striped cardigan, gray tank top emblazoned with a PBS logo, black shorts layered over black leggings, and a pair of orange loafers. He completed the look with shaggy, messy salt-and-pepper hair and a beard.

The ensuing photos went viral over the weekend, as social media users quickly became engrossed with Pine's style. "Chris Pine looks like a Los Feliz mom driving her Prius to drop off her kids at nondenominational quaker high school and I'm obsessed," quipped one X user, formerly Twitter.

Others compared Pine's look to everything from "if Lisa Rinna got bitten by a werewolf" and a missed casting opportunity on HBO's Big Little Lies to "my gayest of aunts" and "three different lesbians simultaneously."

And while these observations would have perhaps come off as a bit mean spirited in another era of the internet, we can safely assume that only the highest praise was intended. You can chalk it up to additional evidence as why Pine continues to reign supreme as The Best Chris.
