Cinco de Mayo Taco Festival in Monroe County

POCONO TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Mexican culture was celebrated with mariachi music, tacos, and crowds in Monroe County.

The inaugural “Poconos Taco Fest” was held today at Pocono Park in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Tacos were grilled for crowds throughout the day.

People also enjoyed delicious food from street trucks and vendors, watched lucha libre which are Mexican wrestling matches, and listened to traditional Mexican folk music.

The Office 5K season three kicks off

Organizers say they are happy with the turnout.

“It’s a wonderful attendance today wonderful attendance. I mean lines for everything. Look at these taco vendors. They’re very happy today. Ha ha,” said Gil Coronado the co-producer at taco fest.

The turnout was so great organizers are already planning a second Poconos Taco Fest for next year.
