We all know Olivia Rodrigo is a Taylor Swift fan, but I didn’t think she’d choose to cosplay as track six from Folklore! ICYMI, Olivia Rodrigo’s red carpet style has been positively unmatched as of late, but her glitzy Brit Awards gown is giving straight up “Mirrorball” disco realness. And I’m here for it!

Eager to make a good impression across the pond (Alexa, play “London Boy”, also by T Swift) Rodrigo arrived to the Brits in a glittering Alexandre Vauthier SS22 Couture gown featuring silver sequins and mirrored fragments not unlike those of the disco ball I impulse-purchased in Brooklyn early last summer.

Disco ball vibes have been trending on TikTok for a while now as a fun way to add a little glamour to an otherwise minimalist decor aesthetic, but why look at one when you can wear one? Rodrigo is always a step ahead.

Rodrigo paired the gown with Eéra jewelry and…a kinda low black wedge sandal. Why her stylist chose to do this, I’ll never know, but it feels extremely disrespectful of Vauthier and this gorgeous gown. Especially when the brand makes matching mirrored boots that would’ve stolen the show!

Seriously, though: Are wedges back? Even if they are, I don’t think styles this low and plain are for the red carpet. That said, I trust Rodrigo and her keen fashion sense wholeheartedly, so if she wants me to buy a pair of black wedges, then gosh darnit, I’ll buy them after work! I love you, Olivia!!

Regardless, Rodrigo’s beauty made up for the unfortunate footwear situation. She wore her long, dark hair in relaxed waves and sported just a hint of frosty blue shadow on her lids along with some black winged liner.

Fans have been quick to connect the glitzy gown to Rodrigo’s love for fellow singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, whose song “Mirrorball” is an underrated banger, to say the least. This outfit, though? Just as much of a banger! Olivia, as always, looks perfect.

And this is just one of her many strong looks to date! Below, scroll through a few more faves.

At the 2021 Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala in Los Angeles, Olivia Rodrigo pulled what many might refer to as a “Miley.” Basically, she stepped out in something sexy and grown so as to separate herself from her former squeaky-clean Disney image. And she looked incredible, by the way. Rodrigo’s black Saint Laurent gown featured a slit at the leg and a dramatic wavy neckline that put her cleavage front and center.

At her first Met Gala, Rodrigo’s look by Saint Laurent was equal parts sexy and playful, with a sheer lace jumpsuit and a black feathered top. Plus super-high black platform heels and extra-sparkly dangly earrings, for good measure!

For the VMAs, Rodrigo showed her softer side in a glam hot pink and coral corsetted gown from Versace, complimented by some glitzy pink butterfly earrings. This is definitely the most femme red carpet look we’ve seen from Rodrigo so far, proving she won’t be one to serve the same look over and over again. We stan a style chameleon!

Of course, my all-time favorite Rodrigo look to date is her Elle-Woods-meets-Cher-Horowitz pink vintage Chanel skirt suit, worn to the White House. Talk about a power move! The black socks and chunky white platform heels really sealed the deal.
