Maine's finest athlete and Olympian Donny Pelletier, aka Troy Murphy, is joining Olympian Jonny Moseley at SKI for MS in Vail this Saturday and at Palisades Tahoe on March 23.

Ski for MS posted an update regarding these upcoming events to Instagram yesterday, asking if everyone who signed up is ready to "point 'em downhill" like Donny.

SKI for MS is putting on a fundraiser called "Jonny Moseley's Vertical Challenge" where skiers aim to get (and track) as many vertical feet skied as possible before 3pm, while raising money to help families affected by multiple sclerosis.

Besides the fundraising event, there will also be a free ski with Jonny, an hour of Mogul Mayhem, the Jimmie Heuga Memorial Ski Down, and an aprés party to top things off.

Both Donny and Jonny are public figures in the ski industry (besides being Olympians, of course), often rallying people for a cause.

While Donny Pelletier is a comical character played by the unironically talented skier Troy Murphy, beneath the jokes lies compassion. Donny raised money for Mainers this winter when destructive floods cost people their homes, cars, and public infrastructure.

Now, he is making an appearance at the SKI for MS events, and the high spirits he brings adds to the fun.

Moseley, as a narrator and featured skier in many Warren Miller movies, shows up at various events in the Tahoe area and frequently hosts aprés at Palisades Tahoe.

Donny, like Jonny, has also worked with Warren Miller Entertainment as a featured skier.

Donny plans to ski in Vail on none other than his Fischer RC4s. His highlight reel to promote the event included footage of him straightlining through Ice Fall on the Fingers at Palisades Tahoe, and, of course, skiing perfectly in-but-out-of-control through a mogul field.

"You better start trainin', 'cause I'm the fastest skier..." Donny looks around for a second, then concludes, "well, probably ever."

Donny throws in a friendly diss to Jonny, saying, "Moseley, he can't even keep up."

We will see about that very soon.
