Dunkin' and Scrub Daddy Are, Somehow, Making Doing the Dishes Fun

It will certainly make doing the dishes more fun.

Scrub Daddy, the internet's favorite sponge, is teaming up with Dunkin' to celebrate National Doughnut Day in style.

The two brands announced they are collaborating on a limited-edition line of Dunkin’ Scrub Daddy and Scrub Mommy sponges. The doughnut-shaped sponges, Dunkin' shared in a statement, "combine Dunkin’s playful spirit with Scrub Daddy’s practical effectiveness, making household chores a bit more cheerful."

The collaboration, Dunkin explained, began as a witty back-and-forth between the two on social media. But the two decided to take things IRL and make things official.

Starting now, fans of adorable cleaning tools can purchase the doughnut-shaped sponges at Scrubdaddy.com. The collaboration includes one Scrub Daddy and one dual-sided Scrub Mommy for $9.98.  As the Scrub Daddy website explains, the sponges are scratch-free, so are "safe on delicate surfaces like non-stick pans" and are dishwasher-safe and tailor-made for deep cleaning. The collaboration comes with one more perk — the sponge's "versatile shape," aka the doughnut hole, which is great for cleaning "long-handled utensils with a single motion," according to Scrub Daddy.

However, the product does come with a warning: "Despite appearing good enough to eat, these scrubbers are not for consumption but will do a great job cleaning up the house!"

This isn't the only fun thing Dunkin' has going on for the doughnut holiday. It added in a press release that it's once again giving away free doughnuts on June 7 at locations nationwide. Guests can get a free classic donut of their choosing with the purchase of any beverage (while supplies last, so get to your nearest Dunkin' early).

And, rather cryptically, the company added this message: "While we’re already buzzing with excitement, Dunkin’ isn’t done celebrating National Donut Day just yet. Stay tuned for more announcements on Thursday, June 6, that will take your donut obsession to the next level. Trust us, you won’t want to miss what’s coming!"
